Smiles by Design

Judy Biberian (left) and Georgia Chronopoulis (right) of JRI Interior Design know a thing or two about balancing functional needs with aesthetic comforts of home. With decades of design experience and a niche in senior living, they are the women behind many of the spaces that seniors and their families are proud to call “home.”

Judy and Georgia are the interior design talent behind the renovations at the Sage Meadow of Middleton, Fond du Lac, De Pere, and Lake Geneva Assisted Living and Memory Care communities.

“Our goal is to make a difference in the lives of the residents, their families and staff and bring a smile to their faces through design,” says Judy. And there will be a lot to smile about at Sage Meadow!

“Each of the Sage Meadow communities is distinct and offers a unique design inspiration,” says Judy. “For example, Sage Meadow of Fond du Lac is located in the middle of a residential neighborhood and gives a very cozy and homey first impression that lends itself nicely to interior design enhancements.”

“Sage Meadow of DePere and Lake Geneva’s extensive collection of artwork that is reminiscent of the surrounding landscape inspired our design and color selections for each community,” says Georgia.

Having specialized in serving senior living communities for over 25 years, JRI designers witnessed and inspired many industry changes.

“When we first started, there were very few options from which to choose, but over time the industry developed materials and furniture that was particularly appropriate for an older adult audience,” says Judy. “Now we have a myriad of beautiful selections to present.”

Judy and Georgia offer a few tricks of the trade that can make a big design impact, including incorporating warmer finishes and mixing fabrics within a room and even on the fronts and backs of the same piece of furniture to break up the space and add interest.
